  • When do registrations open?
    Registrations open early January and close late February every year.
  • How do I register?
    Please register through the PlayHQ system - to get started, click here!
  • Who can register?
    Registrations are open to girls over the age of 7 through to adults, and boys 7-12. All skill levels are welcome!
  • Can I play with my friend?
    Yes! As long as they are within the same age group.
  • Registrations are closed, can I still play?
    Please email us at oatleyrslnetball@gmail.com to see if there are any vacancies in your relevant age group.
  • What are the different types of registrations?
    NetSetGo 7-9 year old non competitive competition played on grass courts. The rules are modified to allow players to learn netball rules and develop their basic ball skills. For more info, please click here. Junior Competition 10-17 years competitive yet friendly competition with full rules. Teams will be placed in divisions according to the team's experience and level. Senior Competition 18 + years competitive yet friendly competition. Teams will be placed in divisions according to the team's experience and level.
  • Once I've registered, what happens next?
    At the close of registration, our President will finalise teams and we will be in touch with team details. For NetSetGo and Junior players, your coach will be in contact before the start of the se season with training times. For Senior players, your team contact will let you know playing times once they are released. In the meantime, head to our Facebook to keep up with the latest news.
  • My child has never played netball before, can they still join a team?
    Absolutely! Our coaches will teach your child the rules and skills of netball.
  • What does registration fees cover?
    Registration fees cover the following: - Netball Australia fees - Netball NSW fees: - Insurance - St George District Netball Association fees - Oatley RSL Netball fees: - Umpiring Fees - Training equipment - Presentation day awards Oatley RSL Netball also fundraises through the annual BBQ at St George and hampers on presentation day.
  • Do you accept Active Kids Voucher?
    Yes! We are an approved Active Kids Provider. Please ensure you have received your $100 voucher from Service NSW prior to registration and this can be applied during the payment process via PlayHQ when registering.
  • How much are registration fees?
    2024 registration fees are: NetSetgo* - $170 Juniors* - $225 Seniors - $267 *Parents can claim a $50 Active Kids Voucher for school aged children which can be used towards the cost of the registration. To do so: Apply for the Active Kids Voucher via the Service NSW website here, prior to registering your child. Once the Active Kids Voucher is received, proceed with registering your child for netball via PlayHQ and redeem the voucher at payment checkout.
  • What time are games held?
    All games are held on Saturdays. Timeslots will be finalised by St George District Netball Association prior to Game Day 1. Games will be approximately played between the timeslots below: NetSetGo - 8.30am Juniors (10-17 yrs) - 8.30am-1pm Seniors (18+) - 1-4pm
  • Where are games held?
    All games are played at Rockdale Netball Courts, West Botany St, Rockdale.
  • What time of the year do you play?
    Our season is held between April and August. There are 14/15 regular rounds plus finals series. There are no games during school holidays and long weekends.
  • How long are the games?
    Games are 4 x 15 minute quarters, with 3-5 minute breaks between each quarter. For NetSetGo, games are 4 x 10 minute quarters with 3 minute breaks in between.
  • When do you train?
    Junior teams train on a weekday afternoon/evening for 1 hour. The time will be agreed upon by the coach and parents.
  • Do senior teams (18+) train?
    Training for seniors is optional for all players and teams.
  • Where do you train?
    Training is held at either Jubilee Park, Mortdale or Olds Park, Penshurst.
  • What do I need for training?
    We ask players to wear appropriate training clothes - shorts or tights, t-shirt (Oatley training shirt is optional), supportive footwear and no jewellery. Please also bring a water bottle and jumper for the cold winter evenings❄️.
  • Are uniforms compulsory?
    Yes. Players have the option to the A-Line Dress or Playing Singlet with own black shorts/tights. Please head to our uniform tab for further details and prices.
